Busy Beaver by the Riverbank

A beaver leans into his work, showing off those big front teeth as he nibbles a chunk from a tall riverside tree. His round body sits low in the grass beside the water, thick tail pressed gently to the ground. He looks up, nose twitching, as if he’s just heard a splash upstream.

Tall pine trees huddle along the water’s edge, their sharp shapes standing out against gentle hills. The river curls behind the beaver, quiet and smooth, inviting you to fill it with swooshes of blue and green. Bits of grass poke through the banks, and smooth rocks sit near his feet, waiting for a splash of color.

Fun Fact!

Castoreum oil from beavers was used long ago to make perfumes smell stronger.
