Rhinoceros Learns to Balance

A round-bellied rhinoceros teeters on a striped ball, his little tail curling behind him. He holds both arms straight out, and his eyes grow wide with surprise as he wobbles from side to side. His mouth hangs open, almost as if he’s gasping, but you can tell he’s trying his very best!

The rhino’s big horn sticks out in front, making his balancing act even more daring. Stripes wrap around the bouncing ball beneath his feet, and his ears point straight up as he concentrates. Each toe grips the ball, while his thick legs stand strong, determined not to topple.

Fun Fact!

Rhino calves are very playful and will often run, jump, and spar with their mothers.
