Plucky Platypus and Her Big Bill

This plump little platypus sits right in the middle of the page, her webbed feet pressed close together and her paws resting on her soft, round belly. She lifts her broad duck bill with a calm, curious look, eyes as shiny as two buttons and tiny clumps of fur fluffing at her cheeks.

A wide, crisscrossed tail stretches out beside her, looking ready to make a gentle splash. The smooth lines of her head, soft tufts of hair on top, and stubby arms give her a friendly, relaxed feeling, like she’s waiting for someone to sit and color beside her.

Fun Fact!

On land, a platypus can fold the webbing on its front feet back, so its strong claws are exposed for digging burrows.
