Spotted Fire Salamander on Rock

A spotted little salamander climbs onto a chunky rock. His wide eye gleams, and his mouth opens in a happy roar as a ribbon of fire swishes out. Curvy toes grip the stone, steady and sure.

A long tail curls behind him, and the tip blazes like a torch. Bold round spots dot his back, asking for bright colors. Cracks in the rock make strong lines that guide small hands. Tiny stones at the base wait for smoky shades.
