Afternoon at the Shimmering Waterhole

A mama kangaroo bends her long neck down toward a sparkling puddle, her nose dipping close to the rippling water. Her strong legs stand steady on the soft ground, while her wide ears twist forward to listen for any funny sounds. Beside her, a little joey sits, tail curled behind him, front paws pressed into the cool earth as he stares with wide, curious eyes.

Behind the kangaroo pair, two bushy trees spread leafy shade across the grass, and far away, a tall emu pauses mid-step in the sunlit field. The rippling water below perfectly catches the kangaroos’ reflections, making it look like there is a secret upside-down world just beneath their feet.
