Little Zombie With Big Eyes

A small zombie boy stands very still, gripping a blocky stick like a toy paddle. Cracks pattern his bald head and cheeks like lines in dry clay. His big round eyes stare forward, and his long gown drapes in soft folds down to his wrists.

He looks serious, but not scary, as if he is waiting for color to wake him up. Tiny lines around his mouth and neck make fun paths to fill. One sleeve bunches as his fist holds the stick tight. Bright or gentle shades will bring out every wrinkle and fold.

Fun Fact!

The official phobia, or intense fear of zombies, is called "kinemortophobia."

Coloring Tips

  1. 1 Blend two greens for skin: light all over, then darker in the cracks.
  2. 2 Shade the gown with long strokes that follow the folds and sleeves.
  3. 3 Add a soft yellow glow around the eyes for a friendly shine.
  4. 4 Dot the stick with brown and gray specks to look like rough wood.
