Moon Song on the Desert Rocks

A bushy-tailed coyote lifts his nose to the round moon, singing as loud as his heart will let him. His fur bristles in the cool night breeze, and his ears stand tall, always alert. He sits right at the edge of a rocky cliff, paws pressed steady, with the faraway mountains and winding river behind him.

Wispy clouds drift past the bright moon, making the whole desert shine silver and blue. Scrubby plants peek up from the ground, and every line in the picture seems to join the coyote’s nighttime song. Even the tiny lines in his tail show he’s full of wild energy!
