Mosaic Hippo in the Sunshine

A friendly hippopotamus stands big and calm, her skin filled with a puzzle of gentle shapes like she’s made of river stones. Her round nose points forward, and two small ears perch on top of her wide head. She gazes out with large eyes, waiting for someone to add color to every patch and curve.

Lines crisscross over her back, legs, and belly, making interesting spaces for bright colors to hide. She’s ready to stomp, yawn, or splash, even though she stands still for now. This hippo’s chunky feet press into the ground, and every part of her body gives you a spot to play with crayons, markers, or wild new color ideas.

Fun Fact!

When hippos bask on riverbanks, they often lie close together in groups.
