Ogre and the Quiet Pond

A bald ogre squats beside a small pond. He props his head in his hand and frowns at the wiggly water. Big toes hug the muddy edge while short grass sticks up in little tufts. His upside-down face stares back from the pond, pointy ears and bumpy nose and all.

He wears a torn wrap at his waist and rests thick arms over his knees. Soft ripples bend his reflection like a silly mirror. Pebbles sit near his feet, and the ground shows tiny scratches and bumps. He looks grumpy, but the watery twin might be trying to cheer him up.

Fun Fact!

The character Shrek famously subverted the "scary ogre" trope by being a reclusive but good-hearted hero.
