Peekaboo Gnome in the Tall Grass

A small gnome crouches behind tall, bendy grass. His pointy hat pokes up like a tiny mountain. One big eye peeks through the leaves, bright and watchful. Round dots rest on the blades like shiny morning drops.

He holds his beard close so it does not tickle the grass. Curved lines show the fold of his hat and the sweep of his whiskers. Across the page, crisscrossing leaves make stripy hide-and-seek paths. Big spaces wait for strong color swishes from little hands.

Fun Fact!

Dungeons & Dragons gnomes are famous for their love of elaborate practical jokes.
