Puzzled Ogre With His Big Club

The big ogre stops mid-step, scratching his shiny bald head. His pointy ears stick out, and a question mark floats above him like a tiny sign. Wide eyes and a wobbly mouth show he feels puzzled, not scary. He grips a chunky wooden club in his right hand.

A torn tunic hangs over his round belly, held by a thick belt with a square buckle. Bare toes spread across the ground, sturdy and a little clumsy. Wrinkles bunch on his forehead and cheeks, giving him a worried, gentle look. Bold lines make every shape clear and easy to color.

Fun Fact!

The "seven-league boots" were magical boots that allowed the wearer to travel seven leagues (over 20 miles) with a single step.

Coloring Tips

  1. 1 Blend two greens for his skin: light on top, darker under the chin and belly.
  2. 2 Draw curved lines on the club for wood grain, then shade the ends darker.
  3. 3 Make the belt buckle bright gold and dot tiny studs along the strap.
  4. 4 Add pebbles or a muddy puddle under his feet to ground the scene.
