Serpent at the Sunken Arches

A long sea serpent rises behind broken stone arches. His mouth opens huge, showing sharp triangle teeth and a dark, cavey throat. A big round eye stares ahead, and tiny spots sprinkle his cheek and neck. Wavy seaweed curls beside him while bubbles wiggle up.

Two tiny fish zip above his head like speedy arrows. Old columns lean and lie on the sandy ground, with scattered bricks and pebbles all around. Curved arches frame the serpent’s body as the sunken city crumbles. Lines and dots on his skin beg for bright stripes and speckles.

Fun Fact!

The modern legend of the Loch Ness Monster gained global attention in 1933 after a story about a "water beast" was published.
