Zebra Snooze in the Shade

A small zebra curls into a cozy ball beneath a wide acacia tree. She tucks her legs and rests her nose on the soft grass. Her eyes close, and her mouth makes a tiny, sleepy smile. Bold stripes swoop along her back and tail like ribbons.

Above her, the tree spreads a flat, shady canopy with sturdy branches crisscrossing like ladders. Little tufts of grass poke up around her, keeping the ground bumpy and warm. The quiet scene stays still, and even her short, spiky mane seems to nap too.

Fun Fact!

A zebra mare usually gives birth to only one foal at a time.
