Zigzag-Horned Savanna Wildebeest

A big wildebeest stands in the short grass. His shaggy mane ruffles in the breeze, and two long horns curl high with zigzag patterns. He faces forward with steady eyes and a strong nose. Puffy clouds stack across the sky while soft hills sit far away.

He plants his hooves wide, like he owns this sunny spot. Lines on his coat show thick fur around his chest and belly. Little grass clumps pop up around his legs, perfect for tiny swishes of green. His tail hangs in a gentle curve, ready to flick a fly.

Fun Fact!

Wildebeest have an amazing birthing season where almost all the calves in the herd are born at the same time!
