Watchful Wolf in the Grass

A quiet wolf peeks from tall, swishy grass. His ears point high, catching every rustle. Steady eyes look straight ahead, calm and clever. A smooth nose sits at the center like a shiny black pebble.

The grass blades cross and bend, making a secret curtain around his face. Short fur tufts mark his forehead and cheeks, neat and strong. He holds still, paws hidden behind the reeds. Open space around him leaves room for bright sky or moonlight colors.

Fun Fact!

A wolf can move its ears to help it pinpoint the exact direction a sound is coming from.

Coloring Tips

  1. 1 Layer light and dark grays on the fur to show depth around the cheeks and forehead.
  2. 2 Mix two greens for the grass: darker at the roots, lighter at the tips.
  3. 3 Add a sky wash above the ears: daytime blue or soft night purple.
  4. 4 Trace the eye edges with a darker gray, then leave tiny white sparkles for shine.
