Outback Wombat Tips His Hat

Meet a friendly wombat resting by a wooden fence. He leans one paw on the post and grins under his wide-brim hat. His round eyes sparkle, and his big pebble nose points ahead. Soft fur lines his belly and paws as he stands steady on the dusty ground.

Behind him, flat plains stretch toward a lumpy mountain and a single gum tree. Puffy clouds float by while tiny birds glide in the sky. Little grasses poke up around stones near his feet. The scene feels calm, like a warm outback morning.

Fun Fact!

The claws on a wombat's front paws can be over an inch (about 3 cm) long.
